Gulf South Land Surveying, LLC provides professional survey services for commercial and residential clients throughout the Gulf South.
We are a full service firm that utilizes state of the art equipment, up-to-date GPS, conventional survey methods, drone mapping and Civil 3D. Based in Lafayette, Louisiana, we are licensed in 8 states.
With our broad range of expertise, we are able to ensure your project goes smoothly from start to finish. We provide accurate, timely results while working closely with you to achieve your goals.

Shawn MacMenamin, PLS
Shawn is a second generation land surveyor who began his career in 1996 acquiring experience on a conventional survey crew and working his way through the ranks. After earning a bachelor’s degree from Nicholls State University, he became a licensed Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Louisiana in 2013. He has since achieved licensure in 7 additional states.
He has managed a vast array of survey projects from New Mexico to South Florida, including pipelines and large scale developments to subdivisions and small scale residential surveys. Through his extensive experience, Shawn has in-depth knowledge and expertise of every aspect of the survey process.
His passion for surveying is apparent as he is a leader in his industry. He is the President of Louisiana Society of Professional Surveyors where he plays an active role in the survey community at a state level. He has previously served on the Executive Board as Secretary, Treasurer and most recently Vice President. Prior to that he held the office of District Chairman. He also is affiliated with Texas Society of Professional Surveyors, Louisiana Oil & Gas Association, The Pipeliners Association of Houston, and Louisiana Pipeliners Association.
